Rose Selfridge is Harry's soul mate, providing a true sense of home for her bold yet sometimes unstable husband. An educated woman, a former painter, and a prominent member of society in Chicago, she is something of a fish out of water in the rigidly stratified London society, with its puzzling traditions and expectations. She is dutiful in her quiet beauty and handles Harry's indiscretions with a weary grace – after all, she has seen it all before. But as Selfridges takes off and Harry is home less frequently, a quiet rebellion stirs in the very traditional Rose. Isolated and lonely, she heads to the National Gallery, where a tempestuous friendship with a handsome young artist forms.

Lady Mae Loxley - Katherine Kelly
Lady Mae Loxley, a London socialite, exudes power, influence and sex. Among the social elite who attend her salon, she can make or break reputations in a heartbeat, and her appetite for wielding power is matched only by her appetite for beautiful young men.
Embedded in a marriage of convenience to Lord Loxley, who stays in the country while she stays in the city, Lady Mae is uniquely aware of a woman's power and its limitations. She is forward-thinking in both politics and business and is an active supporter of the women's rights movement. In Selfridges, she sees opportunity not just as a business venture, but also as a platform to enact social change. But for this, she must secure Harry firmly in her debt. Katherine Kelly - The Actress
Yorkshire native Katherine Kelly has acting in her genes – her Irish-born father, John Kelly, established the Lamproom Theatre in Barnsley, South Yorkshire in 1998. If not performing in a production like Annie or Calamity Jane as a child, she and her siblings would hold court backstage. While Kelly was wildly popular as bad-girl Becky McDonald in the British soap Coronation Street, she is a classically trained graduate of the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, and her theatrical credits include a stint as a leading lady for the Royal Shakespeare Company. Since leaving her long-running Coronation Street role (for which she won a National Television Award in 2012), she has returned to her roots on the stage to acclaim in Oliver Goldsmiths 1773 comedy, She Stoops to Conquer.
